In the promotion playoff at Wembley, West Ham initially came under pressure, but Carlton Cole put the Hammers in the lead. Blackpool equalized shortly after the break through Thomas Ince – pure tension until the very end. In the 87th minute, it was Ricardo Vaz Tê who bundled the ball over the line, sending West Ham back into the Premier League.
